My parents were recently visiting from Pakistan and stayed with me for around 7 weeks. Eventhough 7 weeks sounds like a long time, it flew by fairly fast!
My mom and dad are undisputedly the cutest couple/parents ever. Let me support that statement using the following:
1. They just had their 30th wedding anniversary on Oct 26th.
2. They squabble about everything. Absolutely everything and go into the minutest details but then move onto other things to squabble about.
3. Since during the weekdays i would be gone from home for about 12 hours, my mom and dad would find ways to entertain themselves. For my mom that consisted of taking the bus or walking to the mall, target, walmart, panera, sams club etc. For my dad that usually consisted of staying at home and trying to find websites through which he could access news/newspapers in Urdu/about Pakistan
4. My mom loves to shop. And loves the concept of being able to make returns with full refunds. Which means most of the days when i would come back from work consisted of me taking my mom shopping… or making returns.
5. My mom cooks the most delicious Pakistani food. Eventhough im a decent cook myself, she didnt let me cook at all during her stay and made dinner for me everyday that i came back from work. She even prepared a lot of food and froze it in conveniently sized ziplock bags.
6. My mom bought random small things and sprinkled them throughout my apartment. Im still finding new things i never knew i had which my mom left behind.
7. My dad still things all First Person Shooter video games (like Doom, halo etc.) look like “Wolfenstein” which was the first one he ever saw me play back in the day.
8. My dad can browse the internet and find the most obscure and totally unpublicized Pakistani Urdu news websites to read online Urdu newspapers and TV shows but when it comes down to writing an email or copying photos off of a camera, he draws a blank and insists i do it.
9. And yes, my mom throws down some mean gang signage…
I <3 my parents….
For some comedy check this link out. News story is titled “…… workers feel like criminals”
My workplace announced last friday, October 23rd 2009, they’re shutting the plant down end of 2010 after being open since 1937. Come Tuesday (i took Monday off), i walk into work to find out there are metal detectors and security guards at the front door!!!!
This morning when i walked into work and was placing lunch in the common area refrigerator, i found this taped to the vending machine.
The note on the bag suggests that there are mice that harbor within the dark and gloomy enclosure of the vending unit and munch on the goodies inside.
What the note does not take into account is the possibility that maybe the mouse was trapped inside the Doritos bag, using it to escape the packaging plant and just ate its way out to freedom??? I like that explanation better…
Balloon Boy incident declared a hoax!!
Too bizarre to be true was right…
Weeks? Maybe months to create this?
Oh my God! This is insane! One of the most impressive piece of animation i’ve ever seen..
